CLAY COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will close all lanes of 162nd St. at Route 33 in Kearney, MO beginning Thursday, May 31 and continuing through Saturday, August 11 for the installation of a new turn lane and drainage improvement work. The new turn lane will be from southbound Route 33 onto 162nd St. There will be no planned detours. All work is weather dependent.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
