Project to Rehabilitate Webster County Route KK Bridge

Over James River Begins Week Following Memorial Day

Webster County – A project to replace the bridge deck or driving surface of the James River bridge on Webster County Route KK south of Marshfield starts the week following the Memorial Day holiday, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

Route KK is scheduled to CLOSE at the James River after 9 a.m. on Tuesday, May 29, to allow crews to remove the bridge deck and begin major repairs to the bridge.

The contractor’s schedule calls for the work on Route KK to be completed by early August.

During the closing of Route KK, drivers can use a signed detour using Webster County Route A, Route 38, Webster County Route OO and Route B.

Contractor crews completed a similar bridge project in early May. The Webster County Route B bridge over the James River was completed and open to traffic on May 3.

The entire project is set for completion by early December 2018. However, contractor crews expect the project to be complete by early August.

The prime contractor doing the work is Widel, Inc. of Blackwater, Mo.

The estimated total project cost is $1.4 million.
