Stone County Route A and Christian/Stone County Route K

Set for Resurfacing Project Beginning the Week of May 29

Stone and Christian Counties – Drivers can expect one-lane traffic and crews and equipment on Stone County Route A and Christian/Stone County Route K starting the week of May 29 when both routes will be resurfaced, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

During the resurfacing work, drivers can expect slowed traffic with flaggers on the road directing them through the work zones. Crews also will use a pilot vehicle to lead vehicles through the work zones.

Drivers on side roads should wait for the pilot vehicle before entering the roadways being resurface.

Here’s a look at the resurfacing projects:

  • Stone County Route A between Missouri Route 265/413 and Stone County Route K near Hurley will be resurfaced.
  • Christian/Stone County Route K between Missouri Route 14 and Stone County Route A nearly Hurley will be resurfaced. Up to two-foot wide shoulders with rumble strips will be added.

Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule.

Journagan Construction of Springfield will do the work for a low bid amount of $898,000.

The work is scheduled to be completed by November 1, 2018. However, contractor crews expect to have the project completed much sooner than that barring construction or weather delays.
