MoDOT to mark major completion on Route 141 Design-Build project
ST. LOUIS – The Missouri Department of Transportation and its design-build contractor, Pace Construction Company LLC, will celebrate the last major portion of improvements to the Route 141 Design-Build project this week.
The department and contractor will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the opening of the last significant piece in the project. The ribbon cutting will be Thursday, May 24, at 2 p.m. on the unopened loop ramp from westbound I-44 to southbound Route 141.
The ramp should open by Friday, May 25, weather permitting. There is still one segment of the project to complete, which adds a third left turn lane on the ramp from eastbound I-44 to northbound 141. That should open within less than a week. When that work is complete, all the planned improvements will be finished, and drivers should start to see more improvements in traffic flow as people get used to the new traffic patterns.
To get to the ribbon cutting, take the new loop ramp from northbound Route 141 to westbound I-44 and bear right to make your way onto the closed loop ramp to southbound 141. Crews will help attendees get to the ribbon cutting event.
