CLAY COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will close the northbound and southbound lanes of Route C between Route 92 and Route W from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily, beginning Tuesday, May 29 and continuing through mid-July for pipe replacement and grading work.
In addition, crews will close the northbound and southbound lanes of Route C between Route W and Route CC from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily, for paving work. This work will begin following the completion of pipe replacement work.
The overall project includes resurfacing, shoulder work and culvert replacement work. The work takes place over two Sections of Route C in both Clinton County and Clay Counties. Temporary traffic signals have been put in place as well as message boards to help direct traffic while the project is underway. All work is weather dependent.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
