KANSAS CITY – As part of the Missouri Department of Transportation project along the I-435 corridor, crews will be CLOSING the two outside lanes of westbound I-435 from Grandview Road to Holmes overnight from 8 p.m. to 5a.m. This will be a night-time operation starting Tuesday, May 29 through 5 a.m. Friday June 2. The contractor will be placing new pavement behind the barrier wall which will eventually become an additional lane through this busy corridor.

This work is part of the I-435 South Loop Link project that will replaces the bridges at Wornall and Holmes, rehabilitates the bridges at 104th Street and the Blue River, and upgrades the pavement on I-435 which includes adding another lane. The Missouri Department of Transportation urges all motorists to always wear safety belts, follow posted speed limits and be alert for slowed traffic, narrowed lanes or a reduced number of lanes during construction and maintenance work. And remember, every work zone is a NO PHONE ZONE.
