JACKSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will be making urgent repairs along the southbound Interstate 435 bridge over I-70 beginning at 8 a.m. on Thursday, May 31 until the repairs are complete. Crews hope to have this done before afternoon rush hour. The second lane of the interstate will be closed. Motorists will still have access along I-435 and the southbound I-435 on ramp from I-70. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and find an alternate route if necessary. All work is weather permitting.
Motorists are reminded to use the zipper merge at the merge point. Take turns. Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE ZONES. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive alive.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
