Glenstone Avenue Pavement Rebuild

Update for Week of June 4
  • Kearney Street/Glenstone Avenue intersection CLOSED ‘round the clock Friday evening until early Monday morning, June 8-11 

Work Scheduled:  

  • Paving inside lanes of Glenstone Avenue at Kerr/Evergreen Street and at Kearney Street at night
  • Paving inside lanes on Kearney Street at Glenstone Avenue at night 

Traffic Impacts:

  • EARLY HEADS UP: Glenstone Avenue/Kearney Street intersection CLOSED ‘round the clock. Work hours: 6 p.m. Friday, June 8, until 6 a.m. Monday, June 11.
    • Drivers can make right turns at intersection, but will not be able to make left turns are use the through lanes
  • Inside northbound and southbound lanes of Glenstone Avenue closed at Kearney Street and at Kerr/Evergreen Street ‘round the clock
  • Inside eastbound and westbound lanes of Kearney Street at Glenstone Avenue closed ‘round the clock
  • Traffic signal at Glenstone Avenue and Kerr/Evergreen Street flashing yellow for Glenstone and red for side streets
  • NO LEFT TURNS AT EITHER INTERSECTION
  • One northbound and one southbound lane of Glenstone Avenue remains open most of the time
  • One eastbound and one westbound lane of Kearney Street remains open most of the time
  • Drivers can expect delays on Glenstone Avenue between Kearney Street and I-44 until July 4

(Weather or construction delays could alter the work schedule.) 

Project Summary:

  • Rebuild the deteriorating concrete pavement on Glenstone Avenue in four separate locations
    • At Kerr/Evergreen Street south of I-44
    • At Kearney Street
    • At the railroad overpass north of Commercial Street
    • Between Lombard Street and Page Street
  • Sections at Kearney Street and at Evergreen Street under construction from May 29 until July 4
  • Sections at railroad overpass near Commercial Street and between Lombard Street and Page Street under construction starting in July or August
  • Total Project Cost: $3.7 million
  • Overall Completion Date: November 1, 2018
