Work Will Begin on MO 151 in Shelby County for Bridge Replacements at Ten Mile Creek & Perry Creek

MACON – Weather permitting, Monday, June 11th, Missouri Route 151 in Shelby County will close for bridge replacement at Ten Mile Creek, located approximately 3 miles north of U.S. Route 36 at Clarence.  The contractor will have 90 days to complete this bridge.

Once this bridge is complete by September 15th, Perry Creek, located 2 miles west of Leonard, will close for replacement. They will have 90 days to complete this bridge as well.

“With the significant deterioration on these bridges, we are glad to get these projects underway,” said MoDOT Area Engineer Brian Haeffner. “To increase safety, we will be widening the driving surface on each of these bridges by 4 feet,” he added.

Bleigh Construction Company of Palmyra, Missouri, was awarded the contract for these two bridges at a cost of $1,697,453. Signs will be in place in the upcoming week to notify motorists of the first closure at Ten Mile Creek.
