The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission today awarded a contract today for the replacement of the Missouri Route 87 bridge over Interstate 70 in Boonville. The low bid of $4,437,713 for the project was submitted by Emery Sapp and Sons.
The project includes replacing the 60 year-old bridge and rebuilding portions of the Route 87/I-70 interchange ramps, Route 87, and Nancy Potter Road. The work will require closing Route 87 once the project begins. Additional grading, drainage, and paving construction on Route 87, the I-70 interchange ramps, and Nancy Potter Road will require periodic closures of those routes as well. Periodic night work may be necessary to avoid peak traffic volumes.
The project is scheduled to begin this summer. When a start date is established, MoDOT will alert the public about the project through signs, news releases and social media.
