Street light maintenance work will cause lane closure on Buck O'Neil Bridge

JACKSON/CLAY COUNTIES – Crews will close the northbound right lane of the Buck O’Neil (Broadway) Bridge from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, June 7 for street light maintenance work. The lane closure could potentially have a major impact to traffic. Motorists may want to consider finding an alternate route.

Currently, all southbound lanes of the bridge are closed while The Missouri Department of Transportation conducts bridge rehab work. Those lanes will remain closed through Saturday, December 1. All work is weather dependent.

The Buck O’Neil Bridge is more than 60 years old and sees on average of about 40,000 vehicles each work day.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
