Missouri Route 15 Resurfacing Project to Begin in Shelby County

MACON – POSTPONED - Weather permitting, a project to resurface Missouri Route 15 in Shelby County will begin on Monday, June 18th. The project will go from Missouri Route 168 at Shelbyville to just north of U.S. Route 36 at Shelbina. The total length of the project is approximately 7 miles.

“Crews will first perform full depth pavement repairs throughout the project.  After the pavement repairs are complete, the roadway surface will be milled off and replaced with a new asphalt surface,” said MoDOT Area Engineer Brian Haeffner. “A portion of the shoulders will also be paved for safety,” he added.

Chester Bross of Palmyra, Missouri was awarded the contract for $2,355,295. They have 125 calendar days to complete the project. Traffic will be reduced to one lane through the work zone while the work is completed. Signs will be in place to alert motorists of the upcoming work.

Motorists are encouraged to use caution when traveling through this area, and obey all work zone signs and personnel. Remember always buckle up and put your phone down to eliminate distractions.
