Road Work for Mid-Missouri

June 11-22, 2018

The following is a listing of general highway maintenance and construction work in the mid-Missouri area for the two-week period of June 11-22, 2018.  Weather conditions may postpone the work schedule. Many projects will include lane closures that could cause delays.

All Counties
Daylight Hours
Mowing, striping, brush cutting and guardrail repair continue in various locations.  Motorists should travel with care and be alert to slow-moving equipment along the road.


Boone County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 63 at Bonne Femme Creek, south of Discovery Parkway – Bridge improvements and acceleration lane construction in the southbound lanes continue. One southbound lane is closed through the work area.
       * Access to Route 63 from Tom Bass Road is closed.
       * All lanes are expected to reopen to traffic in mid-June.
The project is scheduled for completion in October.

Route 124 between Route B and Route CC – Resurfacing and shoulder improvements continue.
       * Shoulder grading, rumble strip sealing and striping will take place the week of June 11. The project is scheduled for completion in late June.

Overnight Hours
Interstate 70 between Route 63 and Route 740 (Stadium Boulevard) – Roadway sweeping in the eastbound and westbound lanes will take place Sunday, June 10 and Monday, June 11. One eastbound lane and one westbound lane will be open through the work area.

Route 63 between Route WW and the Interstate 70 Connector – Sign replacement in the northbound lanes will take place on Thursday, June 14. One northbound lane will be open through the work area.

Route 163 (Providence Road) at Green Meadows Road – Concrete repair in the northbound lanes. Both northbound lanes will be closed from 8 p.m. on Monday, June 11 until 6 a.m. Tuesday, June 12. Northbound motorists will be allowed to turn east and west at the intersection.

Interstate 70 Outer Road between Route 740 (Stadium Boulevard) and Knipp Street – Culvert pipe replacement will take place Wednesday, June 13 and Thursday, June 14. The road will be closed from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route.

Business Loop 70 over Interstate 70, west of Route 63 – Bridge maintenance on the westbound exit ramp will take place Wednesday, June 13 through Friday, June 22. One eastbound lane of I-70 will be open through the work area. Traffic on the ramp will not be affected.

Sorrells Overpass Drive over Interstate 70, east of Route 40 – Bridge maintenance will take place Monday, June 11 through Wednesday, June 13. One eastbound lane and one westbound lane of I-70 will be open through the work area. Traffic on the bridge will not be affected.

Route B between Business Loop 70 and Brown Station Road – Roadway resurfacing and sidewalk improvements continue.
       * Striping operations, signal upgrades and sidewalk cleanup between Route 63 and Business Loop 70 are planned for the week of June 11.
The project is scheduled for completion in late June.


Callaway County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 54 Bridge Improvements
Here is a look at traffic impacts currently in place near the U.S. Route 54 bridges over Ozark Valley Railroad, Richland Creek and Business Route 54:

       * Guard cable installation on the eastbound and westbound Route 54 from Holts Summit to Route HH in Fulton
       * Bridge rehabilitation work on the eastbound Route 54 over Stinson Creek. One eastbound lane of Route 54 will be closed through the work area.
These traffic impacts are scheduled until the end of July.


Camden County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 54 Outer Road over Linn Creek
– Bridge replacement is nearing completion. One eastbound lane will be open through the work area.  
       * Westbound motorists will need to use the U.S. Route 54 crossover to connect with the Route 54 east crossover to travel east across the Outer Road bridge. The project is scheduled for completion in July. 

Route 5 between Route 7 and the Niangua River – Roadway resurfacing is nearing completion. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Cole County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 54 between Broadway Street and Stadium Boulevard – Roadway resurfacing, pavement repair, guard rail replacement and bridge repair continues.  
       * The project will move into its second stage beginning Monday, June 11. The second stage will include rehabilitation work on the ramp bridge that carries eastbound Route 50 to eastbound Route 54/northbound Route 63. The bridge work will require the following around-the-clock ramp closures:

  • Eastbound Route 50 to eastbound Route 54/northbound Route 63
  • Eastbound Route 54 to westbound Route 50 and eastbound Route 50/southbound Route 63

The detour for motorists who want to access all of the routes above is Business Route 50 (Missouri Boulevard). Work on the ramp bridge is scheduled to be completed by June 25 and all ramps will be reopened.
       * Rehabilitation work on the eastbound Route 54 bridges over Stadium Boulevard and Broadway Street continues. One eastbound lane will be open through the work area. The eastbound bridge work is scheduled for completion in mid-June. 
       * The eastbound entrance ramp from Christy Drive to Route 54 is closed.
The entire project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route 17 between Route 54 and Route 52 in Miller County – Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening resumes on Wednesday, June 13. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route D between Route 50 and Route 54 – Paving will take place Monday, June 11 through Friday, June 22. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route J between Route 50 and Fourth Street – Paving will take place Monday, June 11 through Friday, June 22. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route N between Route 179 and Route 87 in Moniteau County – Paving will take place Monday, June 11 through Friday, June 22. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route NN between Route N and Route U – Paving will take place Monday, June 11 through Friday, June 22. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Cooper County
Overnight Hours
Interstate 70 over the Missouri River – Bridge maintenance in the eastbound lanes will take place Sunday, June 10 and Monday, June 11. One eastbound lane will be open through the work area.

Daylight Hours
Route W between Route J and Clarksburg Drive – Pavement patching will take place Monday, June 11 and Tuesday, June 12. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Crawford County
Daylight Hours
Route F between Route 19 and Route EE – Roadway patching will take place Monday, June 11 through Thursday, June 14. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route M between Route 8 and Route YY – Roadside work will take place Monday, June 11 through Thursday, June 21. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route N over the Meramec River, west of Hinch Road – Bridge maintenance will take place Monday, June 11 through Thursday, June 14. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route AA between Route 19 and Cherryville Road – Roadway patching will take place Monday, June 11 through Thursday, June 21. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route BB between Route 8 and Westover Road – Roadway patching will take place Monday, June 11 through Thursday, June 21. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route PP between Route 19 and Bass Road – Roadway patching will take place Monday, June 11 through Thursday, June 14. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route VV between Route 19 and Route M – Roadway patching will take place Monday, June 11 through Thursday, June 21. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route YY between Route M and Route 68 in Phelps County – Roadside work will take place Monday, June 11 through Thursday, June 21. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Dent County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route F over Holt Creek, south of Route 32 – Bridge replacement is nearing completion. The road is closed to traffic. Motorists should use the signed detour around the closure.

Route F over Dry Fork, south of County Road 6410 – Bridge replacement is scheduled to begin the week of June 11. The road will be closed to traffic. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route around the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in early August.

Daylight Hours
Route 32 between Route 72 and Route 63 in Texas County – 
Roadway resurfacing continues. One lane will be open and crews and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall. 

Route 119 between Route 32 and County Road 6670 – Roadway resurfacing continues. One lane will be open and crews and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.


Gasconade County
Daylight Hours
Route 19 between Route 28 and Route 50
– Shoulder addition and asphalt paving continues. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route F between Route 19 and Stolpe Road
– Chip sealing the roadway surface to extend pavement life will take place Wednesday, June 13 through Friday, June 15. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. 

Route J between Route 100 and Toll Ferry Road – Chip sealing the roadway surface to extend pavement life will take place Wednesday, June 13 through Friday, June 15. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. 


Howard County
Daylight Hours
Route T between Route 129 and Route 5 in Chariton County – Pavement patching will take place Monday, June 11 through Thursday, June 21. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Laclede County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Interstate 44 between Route 133 and Elm Street – Pavement repair in the westbound lanes is underway. One westbound lane will be open through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in November.


Overnight Hours
Interstate 44 between Route 133 and Route D in Phelps County – Roadway resurfacing continues. 
       * Repair work on the westbound bridge over Smith and Tater Hollow at mile marker 172.8 in Phelps County continues. One westbound lane will be open between mile marker 171 and mile marker 173. 
       * Guardrail repair and replacement will take place in various locations in the eastbound and westbound lanes the week of June 11.
The project is scheduled for completion in August.

Route 5 between Route C and Farmer’s Lane – Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening continues. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in August. 

Route 32 between Route 5 and Route 17 in Texas County – Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening continues. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in November. 

Route U between Route 17 and Route 32 – Pavement repair will take place Monday, June 11 through Thursday, June 14. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Maries County
Daylight Hours
Route 42 between Route 63 and Route 17 in Miller County – Roadway resurfacing, shoulder addition, and guardrail installation continue.
       * Shoulder and driveway grading, seed and mulch installation and guardrail replacement will take place between Vienna and Iberia the week of June 11. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
The project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route BB between Route 133 and Route 42 in Miller County – Pavement patching will take place Monday, June 11 through Thursday, June 21. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Miller County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route A over Tavern Creek, west of Clark School Road – Bridge deck replacement will begin on Monday, June 18. The road will be closed to traffic. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route around the area. The project is scheduled for completion in August.

Daylight Hours
Route 54 between Isleworth Avenue and Lakeland Road – Surveying in the eastbound and westbound lanes will take place Tuesday, June 12 and Wednesday, June 13. One eastbound lane and one westbound lane will be open through the work area.

Route 17 between Route 52 and Route 54 in Cole County – Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening resumes on Wednesday, June 13. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route 42 between Route 17 and Route 63 in Maries County – Roadway resurfacing, shoulder addition, and guardrail installation continue.
       * Shoulder and driveway grading, seed and mulch installation and guardrail replacement will take place between Iberia and Vienna the week of June 11. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
The project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route 52 between Versailles Avenue and Willow Road – Culvert pipe repair in various locations will take place Monday, June 18 and Tuesday, June 19. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route H between Route 17 and Marys Home Road– Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening resumes on Wednesday, June 13. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route BB between Route 42 and Route 133 in Maries County – Pavement patching will take place Monday, June 11 through Thursday, June 21. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Moniteau County
Daylight Hours
Route N between Route 87 and Route 179 in Cole County – Paving will take place Monday, June 11 through Friday, June 22. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Morgan County

Route PP over Messer Creek, east of Route D – Bridge replacement will begin on Monday, June 11. The road will be closed to traffic. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route around the area. The project is scheduled for completion in August.


Osage County

       * Guardrail repair and replacement will take place in various locations in the eastbound and westbound lanes the week of June 11.
The project is scheduled for completion in August.

Route B over the Bourbeuse River, north of County Road 1400 – Bridge replacement continues. Minimal traffic interruptions are expected. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Route D over the Burlington Northern/Sante Fe Railroad, east of Interstate 44 – Bridge replacement continues. Minimal traffic interruptions are expected. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Daylight Hours
Route 63 between Business Loop 44 (Kingshighway) and the Maries County line – Concrete patching will take place Monday, June 11 through Thursday, June 21. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route YY between Route 68 and Route M in Crawford County – Roadside work will take place Monday, June 11 through Thursday, June 21. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Pulaski County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Interstate 44 between Route 133 in Laclede County and Route D in Phelps County – Roadway resurfacing continues.
