Missouri Route 86 in Newton County Scheduled

For Resurfacing Beginning the Week of June 18

Neosho – Drivers can expect lane closures and occasional traffic delays on Missouri Route 86 in Newton County for a resurfacing project beginning the week of June 18, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

Contractor crews will resurface Route 86 between Kodiak Road and Business 60 (Neosho Boulevard) and a section between College Street and U.S. Route 60. The highway will receive a new driving surface and will be widened to include two-foot wide shoulders with edgeline rumble strips.

Drivers should obey flaggers guiding motorists through the work zone. Signs and message boards also will alert drivers approaching the work zone.

Crews will work during daytime hours on this project except on that portion within the Neosho city limits. That work will be done during nighttime hours between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m.

Weather and/or scheduling delays could alter the work schedule.
