MoDOT to Will Change Traffic Pattern on I-70 at Route 65 Starting this Week

MARHSALL – Beginning tomorrow, the Missouri Department of Transportation will shift I-70 traffic near Marshall, MO. Traffic on westbound I-70 will be shifted into a split configuration utilizing a lane of both eastbound and westbound bridges. Eastbound I-70 will stay in current pattern. This is phase 1 of a multi-phase bridge rehab project that will last through November.

Reminder: The loop ramps from southbound Route 65 to eastbound I-70 and northbound Route 65 to westbound I-70 are currently CLOSED. Traffic is detoured to Routes YY and J. The exit ramps from I-70 to Route 65 will remain open

Speeds through the work zone will be reduced to 60 miles per hour, however crews will maintain two lanes in each direction on I-70 for the duration of this project. Check on traffic impacts with MoDOT's Traveler Information Map. Use cameras at mile marker 78.1 and 81.5.

This work is part of the I-70 and Route 65 bridge rehabilitation project that will repair the bridges on I-70 that span the Route 65 interchange outside of Marshall because the bridge decks are becoming substandard. This work will increase the life span of these twin bridges. Learn more here: http://bit.ly/2F4Vc50

The Missouri Department of Transportation urges all motorists to always wear safety belts, follow posted speed limits and be alert for slowed traffic, narrowed lanes or a reduced number of lanes during construction and maintenance work. And remember, every work zone is a NO PHONE ZONE.
