Paving Along U.S. 71 Will Cause Various Closures Beginning June 13

JACKSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will be conducting a variety of paving operations along northbound and southbound U.S. 71 beginning at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13, until Saturday, June 16. These operations may be accompanied by various closures in the area. A full list of closures is noted below. All work is weather permitting.

  • Crews will be paving U.S. 71 near Gregory Blvd. beginning at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, until 5:30 a.m. the following morning. This work will CLOSE Gregory Blvd. over U.S. 71
  • Crews will CLOSE the 75th Street on ramp onto northbound U.S. 71 at approximately midnight the evening of Wednesday, June 13, until 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 14. This closure may impact traffic to and from the fire station on 75th Street.
  • On both Thursday, June 14, and Friday, June 15, from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following mornings, crews will CLOSE the 63rd Street on  ramp to northbound U.S. 71, as well as, the southbound U.S. 71 off ramp to 63rd Street. This closure will impact traffic towards the Research Medical Center

They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
