PLATTSBURG, Mo. – A resurfacing project on Route C in Clay County is continuing into Clinton County after delays. Contractor crews from Ideker, Inc., working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, began working in Clay County on April 2 to remove bridge rail and work on box culverts.
The crews will begin widening shoulders on the northern portion of Route C, from Route 116 in Clinton County to Route CC in Clay County, on Monday, June 18 through Wednesday, June 20. Resurfacing begins in this section on Thursday, June 21, and is expected to take approximately five days, weather permitting.
During the shoulder work and resurfacing, Route C will be narrowed to one lane. A pilot car and flaggers will guide motorists around the work zone. To avoid delays, drivers may wish to use an alternate route.
Resurfacing the southern portion in Clay County will follow.
MoDOT encourages all travelers to slow down, especially in work zones, as there will be large equipment and workers near the driving lanes. As always, please buckle up, eliminate distractions, pay attention and drive safely so everyone is able to Arrive Alive.
