Glenstone Avenue Pavement Rebuild

Update for Week of July 2
  • Complete pouring concrete for roadway and entrances along Glenstone Avenue and Kearney Street
  • No work planned from noon Tuesday, July 3, until Thursday morning, July 5, for the July 4th holiday 

Work Scheduled:  

  • Pouring concrete for roadway lanes on Glenstone Avenue in areas between I-44 and Kearney Street
  • Pouring concrete for roadway lanes on Kearney Street at Glenstone Avenue
  • Pouring concrete for entrances along Glenstone Avenue and Kearney Street
  • Rebuilding sidewalks in areas 

Traffic Impacts:

  • Outside lanes of Glenstone Avenue closed in areas between I-44 and Kearney Street
  • Outside lanes of Kearney Street closed at Glenstone Avenue
  • No right turns at intersections where outside lanes are closed
  • Crews working at night at times 

(Weather or construction delays could alter the work schedule.) 

Project Summary:

  • Rebuild the deteriorating concrete pavement on Glenstone Avenue in four separate locations
    • At Kerr/Evergreen Street south of I-44
    • At Kearney Street
    • At the railroad overpass north of Commercial Street
    • Between Lombard Street and Page Street
  • Sections at Kearney Street and at Evergreen Street under construction from May 29 until early July
  • Sections at railroad overpass near Commercial Street and between Lombard Street and Page Street under construction starting in July or August
  • Total Project Cost: $3.7 million
  • Overall Completion Date: November 1, 2018
