Road Work for Mid-Missouri

July 2-13, 2018

The following is a listing of general highway maintenance and construction work in the mid-Missouri area for the two-week period of July 2-July 13, 2018. Scheduled lane closures will not take place on Wednesday, July 4 for the Independence Day Holiday.  Weather conditions may postpone the work schedule. Many projects will include lane closures that could cause delays.

All Counties
Daylight Hours
Mowing, striping, brush cutting and guardrail repair continue in various locations.  Motorists should travel with care and be alert to slow-moving equipment along the road.


Boone County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 124 between Route B and Route CC – Resurfacing and shoulder improvements are nearing completion. Striping operations will take place the week of July 2. The project is scheduled for completion in June.

Overnight Hours
Interstate 70 Eastbound between Mile Marker 125.4 and Mile Marker 126.4 – Concrete repair will take place on Monday, July 9. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 40 between Route UU and Route 5 in Howard County – Resurfacing and shoulder improvements are underway.
       * Contractors will begin paving the three-foot shoulders, beginning at Route 5. One lane will be open, and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled to be completed in October.

Daylight Hours
Route V between Thomas Hill Road and Winn Road – Culvert pipe replacement will take place on Thursday, July 5. The road will be closed. Motorists are advised to seek alternate route.

Route Z between Mount Hope Road and Sexton Lane – Pavement overlay will take place Monday, July 9 through Thursday, July 12. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Callaway County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 54 Bridge Improvements
Here is a look at traffic impacts currently in place near the U.S. Route 54 improvement project:
       * Guard cable installation on the eastbound and westbound Route 54 from Holts Summit to Route HH in Fulton
       * Bridge rehabilitation work on the eastbound Route 54 bridge over Stinson Creek. One eastbound lane of Route 54 will be closed through the work area.
These traffic impacts are scheduled until the end of July.

Route D between Route 94 and Route O – Pavement patching will take place Monday, July 2 through Thursday, July 12. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Camden County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 5 between Route 7 and Beauty Road
– Roadway resurfacing continues.
       * Striping operations will take place the week of July 2. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Daylight Hours
Route 5 between Route 7 and Route E in Laclede County – Guardrail installation and replacement and pavement repair continues. Occasional lane closures are likely in the work area. The entire project is scheduled for completion in November.


Cole County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 54 between Broadway Street and Stadium Boulevard – Roadway resurfacing, pavement repair, guard rail replacement and bridge repair continues.
       * The project is in its third stage, which includes rehabilitation of the westbound Route 54 bridges over Stadium Boulevard and Broadway Street and work on the Route 54 on-ramp from the Madison Street bridge beginning July 9.
       *During the work, westbound Route 54 will be reduced to one lane 24 hours a day from north of Broadway to south of Stadium.
       * The Route 54 on-ramp from Madison Street will also be closed during the work.
The work on Westbound Route 54 and Madison Street exit is scheduled for completion August 6.
The entire project is scheduled for completion in November.

NOTE: All lanes of traffic will be open for the July 4th Holiday. Closures will resume on Monday, July 9th in the westbound lanes of Route 54 and remain in place until mid-July.

Route 17 between Route 54 and Route 52 Miller County – Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening continues. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route W between Route B and East Bend Road – Pavement repair will take place Monday, July 2 through Thursday, July 12. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

South Outer Road 50 between Truman Boulevard and Big Horn Drive – Pavement patching will take place Monday, July 2 through Thursday, July 12. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Cooper County
Daylight Hours
Route 135 between Interstate 70 and Route JJ – Pavement repair will take place Monday, July 9 through Thursday, July 12. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route BB between Route A and Morgan Street – Sidewalk improvements are underway. Much of the work will take place off the roadway. Minimal traffic interruptions are expected.


Crawford County
Overnight Hours
Interstate 44 between Route H and Route ZZ – Pavement repair work in the eastbound lanes continue. One eastbound lane will be open through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in November.

oute M between Route 8 and Route YY – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, July 2 through Thursday, July 12. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route AA between Route 19 and Cherryville Road – Chip sealing the roadway surface to extend pavement life will take place Monday, July 9 through Thursday, July 12. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route VV between Route 19 and Route M – Chip sealing the roadway surface to extend pavement life will take place Monday, July 2 through Thursday, July 12. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Dent County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route F over Dry Fork Creek, South of Route NN – Bridge replacement is underway.
The road is closed. Motorists should use the signed detour around the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in August.

Route 32 between Route 72 and Route 63 in Texas County – Roadway resurfacing continues. One lane will be open and crews and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Route H between County Road 2160 and County Road 6170 in Phelps County – Roadside work will take place Monday, July 2 through Thursday, July 5. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route W between Route 32 and Private Drive – Chip sealing the roadway surface to extend pavement life will take place Monday, July 9 through Thursday, July 12. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route EE between Route 32 and County Road 5225 – Chip sealing the roadway surface to extend pavement life will take place Monday, July 9 through Thursday, July 12. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route FF between Route 68 and Route 72 – Chip sealing the roadway surface to extend pavement life will take place Monday, July 9 through Thursday, July 12. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route MM between Route 32 and County Road 4290 – Chip sealing the roadway surface to extend pavement life will take place Monday, July 9 through Thursday, July 12. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Gasconade County
Daylight Hours
Route 19 between Route 28 and Route 50 – Shoulder addition and asphalt paving continues. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Howard County
Overnight Hours
Route 40 between Route 5 and Route UU in Boone County – Resurfacing and shoulder improvements continue.

Route U between Route 3 and Route H – Pavement repair will take place Monday, July 2 through Thursday, July 12. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Laclede County
Overnight Hours
Interstate 44 between Route 133 and Route D in Phelps County – Roadway resurfacing continues.
       * Guardrail repair and replacement will take place in various locations in the eastbound and westbound lanes the week of July 9.
       * Bridge repair work in the westbound lanes between mile marker 171 and 173 in Phelps County continues. One westbound lane will be open in the work area.
The entire project is scheduled for completion in August.

Interstate 44 between Elm Street and Route 133 – Pavement repair work in the westbound lanes continues the week of July 2. One westbound lane will be open through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route 5 between Route E and Route 7 Camden County – Guardrail installation and replacement and pavement repair continues. Occasional lane closures are likely in the work area. The entire project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route 5 between Route C and Farmer’s Lane – Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening continues. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in August.

Route 32 between Route 5 and Route 17 in Texas County – Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening continues. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route O between Route 5 and Anthony Road – Pavement repair will take place Monday, July 2 through Thursday, July 12. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route JJ between Route F and Route H in Camden County – Culvert pipe replacement in various locations will take place Monday, July 2 through Thursday, July 12. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Maries County
Daylight Hours
Route 42 between Route 63 and Route 17 in Miller County
– Roadway resurfacing, shoulder addition, and guardrail installation continue.
       * Crews will pave asphalt the week of July 2. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route EE between Route 28 and County Road 407 – Culvert pipe replacement will take place on Tuesday, July 10. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Miller County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route A over Tavern Creek, east of Route PP – Bridge replacement is continues. The road is closed. Motorists are advised to seek alternate route. The project is scheduled for completion in mid-August.

Route 17 between Route 52 and Route 54 in Cole County – Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening continues. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route 42 between Route 17 and Route 63 in Maries County – Roadway resurfacing, shoulder addition, and guardrail installation continue.
       * Crews will pave asphalt the week of July 2. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route W at Village Marina Road – Culvert pipe repair will take place Monday, July 2 and Tuesday, July 3. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route BB between Route 42 and Route 133 in Maries County – Pavement patching will take place Monday, July 2 through Thursday, July 12. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Moniteau County
Daylight Hours
Route W between Route 5 and Route E – Pavement patching will take place Monday, July 2 through Thursday, July 5. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Morgan County
Daylight Hours
Route JJ between South Jaybird Lane and Wildlife Drive – Culvert pipe replacement will take place on Monday, July 9. The road will be closed from 6:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. Motorists are advised to seek alternate route.

Route BB over Middle Richland Creek, south of Self Chapel Road – Bridge replacement is continues. The road is closed. Motorists are advised to seek alternate route. The project is scheduled for completion in August.

Route PP over Messer Creek, east of Route D – Bridge replacement is continues. The road is closed. Motorists are advised to seek alternate route. The project is scheduled for completion in August.


Osage County
Daylight Hours
Route A between Route 50 and Route W – Pavement patching will take place Monday, July 2 through Thursday, July 12. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Phelps County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Interstate 44 between Route D and Route 133 in Laclede County – Roadway resurfacing continues.
      * Guardrail repair and replacement will take place in various locations in the eastbound and westbound lanes the week of July 2.
       * Bridge repair work in the westbound lanes between mile marker 171 and 173 in Phelps County continues. One westbound lane will be open in the work area.
The entire project is scheduled for completion in August.

Route B over the Bourbeuse River, north of County Road 1400 – Bridge replacement continues. Much of the work will take place off the roadway. Minimal traffic interruptions are expected. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Route D over the Burlington Northern/Sante Fe Railroad, east of Interstate 44 – Bridge replacement continues.  Much of the work will take place off the roadway. Minimal traffic interruptions are expected. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Route H between County Road 6170 and County Road 2160 in Dent County – Roadside work will take place Monday, July 2 through Thursday, July 5. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Pulaski County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
