In Ozark/Nixa Areas Set for Resurfacing Starting Week of July 16

Greene and Christian Counties – Drivers can expect lane closings and crews and equipment at night on Campbell Avenue (Route 160/13) in south Springfield and Christian County Route CC between Ozark and Nixa starting the week of July 16 when both roadways will be resurfaced, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

The project also includes resurfacing Christian County Route M in Nixa. The Route M project will start the week of July 23.

Crews will work at night to complete all three projects.

Project highlights:

  • Campbell Avenue (Route 160/13) between James River Freeway (Route 60) and Plainview Road in Springfield. Nighttime lane closings starting the week of July 16. Work hours: 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • Christian County Route CC between Route 160/13 in Nixa and Route 65 in Ozark. One-lane traffic at night with flaggers directing drivers through the work zone starting the week of July 16. Crews also will use pilot vehicles to guide drivers through the work zone. Drivers on side roads are urged to wait for the pilot vehicle before entering Route CC. Work hours: 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  •  Christian County Route M between Route 14 and Butterfield Road in Nixa. Nighttime lane closings starting the week of July 23. Work hours: 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Contractor crews will start work on Campbell Avenue first. Once the work is completed, they will move to Christian County Route CC. Once Route CC is complete, they will move to Route M in Nixa.

Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule.

Journagan Construction of Springfield will do the work for a low bid amount of $907,243.

The work is scheduled to be completed by November 1, 2018. However, contractor crews expect to have the project completed much sooner than that barring construction or weather delays.
