TRENTON, Mo – The brutal cold of winter and sweltering heat of summer in Northwest Missouri take their toll on our aging roads and bridges. Three Grundy County bridges on Route W west of Trenton are scheduled to close next week for routine maintenance. Repairs such as these help MoDOT prolong the life of the many bridges that dot the roadways of Northwest Missouri. Combined, these three bridges carry more than 1,000 vehicles per day.
Crews from the Missouri Department of Transportation plan to close Route W to all traffic between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the locations and dates noted below:
- Monday, July 9 between Route F and SW 80th Street, Gees Creek (built in 1952)
- Tuesday, July 10 between SW 30th Avenue and SW Plum Lane, Hickory Creek (built in 1952)
- Thursday, July 12, between SW 27th Street and Route WW, Wolf Creek (built in 1935)
During these closures, motorists will need to use an alternate route. All work is weather dependent and schedules are subject to change.
