Glenstone Avenue Pavement Rebuild

Update for Week of July 9
  • Lane closings at Glenstone/Kearney intersection should be complete by end of the week  

Work Scheduled:  

  • Installing concrete medians at Kearney Street/Glenstone Avenue intersection
  • Building entrances and sidewalks in various locations
  • Repairing concrete pavement in areas that did not receive new pavement
  • Installing road signs
  • Applying pavement striping in areas including Glenstone Avenue/Kearney Street intersection 

Traffic Impacts:

  • Outside lanes of Glenstone Avenue closed at Kearney Street
  • Outside lanes of Kearney Street closed at Glenstone Avenue
  • No right turns at Glenstone/Kearney intersection
  • Traffic shifts and lane closings when crews stripe pavement at mid-week
  • Work complete at Evergreen/Kerr Streets at Glenstone Avenue 

(Weather or construction delays could alter the work schedule.) 

Project Summary:

  • Rebuild the deteriorating concrete pavement on Glenstone Avenue in four separate locations
    • At Kerr/Evergreen Street south of I-44
    • At Kearney Street
    • At the railroad overpass north of Commercial Street
    • Between Lombard Street and Page Street
  • Sections at Kearney Street and at Evergreen Street under construction from May 29 until early July
  • Sections at railroad overpass near Commercial Street and between Lombard Street and Page Street under construction starting in July or August
  • Total Project Cost: $3.7 million
  • Overall Completion Date: November 1, 2018
