Route W in St. Charles County to Close Thursday, July 12

ST. LOUIS – Route W in St. Charles County will be closed for 24 hours next week so crews can replace underground pipes. The entire stretch of Route W, from Interstate 70 to Route 61, will be closed to thru traffic starting Thursday, July 12 at noon. Local traffic only will be allowed through the barricades but those who live south of Duenke Road should come from I-70, while those who live north of Shady Creek Lane should come from Route 61. The road will reopen by Friday, July 13 at noon.

This is the first of four scheduled closures as part of the ongoing project to add shoulders and resurface Route W. During the closures, no thru traffic will be allowed on Route W but local traffic will be allowed thru the barriers at I-70 and Route 61. The other closures are scheduled for:

  • Tuesday, July 17 from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Residents who live south of Duenke Road should come from I-70 and those north of Shady Creek Lane should come from Route 61.
  • Thursday, July 19 from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. Residents who live south of Farmview Lane should come from I-70 and those north of Quiet Village Drive should come from Route 61.
  • Wednesday, July 24 from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. Residents who live south of Falcon Woods should come from I-70 and those north of Quiet Ridge Court should come from Route 61.

All work is weather permitting and may be shifted due to inclement weather.
