CLAY COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation is preparing to demolish the
southbound I-435 Bridge over Route 210 as part of an ongoing Route 210 and I-435 Interchange Improvement Project. Crews will make the following changes in preparation for the demolition. All work is weather dependent.
Crews will close westbound Route 210 at northbound I-435 from 11 p.m. Friday, July 13 until 5 a.m. Monday, July 16 for bridge demo work.
Crews will close eastbound Route 210 at Chouteau Trafficway from 11 p.m. Friday, July 13 until Monday, July 16 for bridge demo work.
Crews will close the ramp from Route 210 to southbound I-435 from 11 p.m. Friday, July 13 until 5 a.m. Monday, July 16 for bridge demo work.
Crews will close the ramp from southbound I-435 to Route 210 from 11 p.m. Friday, July 13 until Monday, July 16 for bridge demo work.
Prior to the bridge demo work, crews on Thursday, July 12 will shift southbound I-435 traffic to the northbound I-435 lanes in a head-to-head configuration at Route 210 until further notice.
This is all part of a project to build a new diverging diamond interchange for I-435 and Route 210, which includes replacing the old twin bridges over I-435 and Route 210 and widening I-435.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
