CLAY COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will demolish the Southbound I-435 Bridge over Route 210 in Clay County beginning at 11 p.m. Friday, July 13 and will continue demolition through 5 a.m. Monday, July 16. This is all part of a project to improve the I-435 and Route 210 Interchange. Motorists should expect the following work.
Crews will reduce southbound I-435 at Route 210 to one lane from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Friday, July 13 for pavement marking work. Following this work, crews will shift southbound I-435 traffic to the northbound I-435 lanes in a head-to-head configuration at Route 210. The shift is expected to happen sometime between noon and 2 p.m.
Crews will close westbound Route 210 at northbound I-435 from 11 p.m. Friday, July 13 until 5 a.m. Monday, July 16 for bridge demo work.
Crews will close eastbound Route 210 at Chouteau Trafficway from 11 p.m. Friday, July 13 until Monday, July 16 for bridge demo work.
Crews will close the ramp from Route 210 to southbound I-435 from 11 p.m. Friday, July 13 until 5 a.m. Monday, July 16 for bridge demo work.

This is all part of a project to build a new diverging diamond interchange for I-435 and Route 210, which includes replacing the old twin bridges over I-435 and Route 210 and widening I-435.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
