Marion County Route K Will Close for Bridge Replacement at South Fork North River

HANNIBAL– Weather permitting, July 23, Marion County Route K will close for a bridge replacement at South Fork North River, located 0.3 mile north of Route CC near Hunnewell.  The new bridge will have a 4-feet wider driving surface than the existing bridge built in 1938.

“This bridge's current wooden substructure will be upgraded to existing standard specifications,” said MoDOT Area Engineer Brian Haeffner. "While the bridge has served area citizens for 80 years, the time for replacement has come."

Chester Bross Construction of Hannibal, Missouri was awarded the contract on this project in the amount of $494,709. They have 80 calendar days to complete the bridge. Signs will be in place in the upcoming week to notify motorists of the closure.
