Night Striping of I-44 and I-70 to Start July 22

Missouri Department of Transportation crews paint stripes on Interstate 44 in Laclede, Pulaski, Phelps and Crawford counties and Interstate 70 in Cooper, Boone and Callaway counties beginning Sunday, July 22. Weather permitting, stripe painting will take place during the overnight hours for up to three weeks. Motorists can expect a slow-moving caravan of trucks with flashing lights, boards with flashing arrows and signs that say "Wet Paint."

Motorists approaching the striping caravan are reminded to use caution and pass the caravan in the open lane to give the new paint the few minutes it needs to dry and prevent paint from getting onto vehicles. The wet paint is water-based, so motorists that get paint on their vehicles are advised to clean your car as quickly as possible with a high-powered water hose such as those used in car washes.
