MoDOT to shift northbound I-270 traffic between Dorsett and I-70 starting Sunday

Heavy Congestion Expected

ST. LOUIS - Motorists may want to give themselves extra time to travel on I-270 between Dorsett and I-70 during Monday morning rush hour due to some changes in the traffic patterns.

Starting at 6 p.m. Sunday, July 22, crews will close various lanes on northbound I-270 between Page and I-70. By Monday morning rush hour, all northbound I-270 lanes will be shifted onto the southbound bridge between Dorsett and I-70. This will leave three narrowed lanes open for travel in both directions.

In addition, crews will close the Dorsett on-ramp to northbound I-270 at 4 p.m. on Sunday. The traffic shift and ramp closure will remain until mid to late August.

The posted speed limit will be 45 miles per hour through the work zone and heavy congestion is expected. Motorists may experience up to 30-minute delays while driving through this area, especially during morning and evening rush hours. Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes running north and south such as I-170, Lindbergh and Route 141.

This is the continued work to rehabilitate the bridge over Fee Fee Creek and the driving surface above it on I-270. Drivers are encouraged to slow down and pay attention while driving through the work zone.
