McDonald County – Two state routes in McDonald County are scheduled to be sealed with a mixture of rock and oil beginning the week of July 23, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
Here’s a look at the locations:
- Late in the week of July 23 – McDonald County Route H between Missouri Route 90 in Noel and U.S. Route 71 (14 miles)
- Early in the week of July 30 – Missouri Route 76 from Missouri Route 59 in Anderson west to Missouri Route 43 (9 miles)
Weather and/or construction delays could alter the work schedule
Drivers can expect one-lane traffic with flaggers and pilot vehicles directing them through the work zone. Traffic could be stopped for several minutes. Delays are expected. Drivers at side roads should wait for the pilot vehicle before entering the roadway.
Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed when traveling over recently-sealed sections of highways.
A chip-seal is not an alternative to an asphalt overlay, but is planned for these roads as an economical way to maintain and preserve the roadway. The treatments keep a road from deteriorating and will extend its life.
