BOONE COUNTY – Bridge rehabilitation work on the Boone County Route BB bridge over Interstate 70 will begin on Thursday, August 2. Motorists traveling on I-70 in Boone County should be advised that the work will affect traffic on I-70 and Route BB in the work zone until October.
The first traffic impact will begin at 10 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 2, both eastbound I-70 ramps to and from Route BB will close for pavement repair work. The eastbound I-70 ramps will reopen, and repair work will be suspended by 5 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 3.
The eastbound I-70 ramps will close again at 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 3 to continue pavement repair work. Repairs will be completed on the east side and all ramps reopened by 5 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 6.
During the week of Aug. 6, motorists can expect nightly lane closures in both directions of I-70 for bridge repair.
Other upcoming impacts relating to the project are as follows:
- Beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 10, both westbound I-70 ramps to and from Route BB will close for pavement repair. Ramps will remain closed until 5 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 13.
- Route BB will close for two months starting Monday, Aug. 13 for bridge rehabilitation work. The ramps will be open for most of the rehabilitation work but will close near the end of the project to tie into the rehabilitated bridge. Ramp closure dates are to be determined later in the project schedule. The bridge will reopen when work is completed in early October.
MoDOT will notify motorists in advance of future closures through electronic message boards, press releases, and social media.
