Road Work for Mid-Missouri

July 30 - August 10, 2018

The following is a listing of general highway maintenance and construction work in the mid-Missouri area for the two-week period of July 30 - August 10, 2018.  Weather conditions may postpone the work schedule. Many projects will include lane closures that could cause delays.

All Counties
Daylight Hours
Mowing, striping, brush cutting and guardrail repair continue in various locations.  Motorists should travel with care and be alert to slow-moving equipment along the road.


Boone County
Overnight Hours
Interstate 70 between Mile Marker 124 and Mile Marker 128 – Pavement-leveling will close one lane of Interstate 70 in each direction between mile markers 124 and 128 in various locations.  The lane closures will take place Monday, July 30 through Wednesday, August 8, from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. each night.

Route BB over Interstate 70 – Concrete sawing for pavement repair will close the eastbound I-70 ramps to and from Route BB on Thursday, August 2 at 10 p.m. the ramp will reopen by 5 a.m. on Friday, August 3.
       *The contractor will close the eastbound ramps at Route BB again, starting Friday, August 3 at 7 p.m. for pavement repair. The ramps will reopen by Monday, August 6 at 5 a.m.
       *During the week of August 6, there will be nightly lane closures on I-70 for bridge repairs.
       *The westbound ramps of Route BB will be closed for the entire weekend starting on Friday, August 10 at 7 p.m. for pavement repair, and will reopen by 5 a.m. on Monday, August 13.
       *The Route BB bridge will be closed for two months starting Monday, August 13 for bridge rehabilitation. It will re-open in early October.  The ramps will be open for most of the time, however, they will be closed at some period in order to tie into the rehabilitated bridge.
The full project is scheduled for completion in mid-October.

Route 40 between Route UU and Route 5 in Howard County – Resurfacing and shoulder improvements continue.
       * Resurfacing operations on the west end of the project continues. Concrete work is also planned at Booth Lane and Trails West. One lane will be open, and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled to be completed in October.

Daylight Hours
Route 63 between Route 22 and Route EE in Randolph County – Roadway resurfacing in the northbound lanes is underway. One northbound lane will be open through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route J between Route 40 and Route 124 – Roadway paving will take place Monday, July 30 through Thursday, August 2. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Callaway County

Route 54 Bridge Improvements
Here is a look at traffic impacts currently in place near the U.S. Route 54 bridge improvement project:
       * Guard cable installation on the eastbound and westbound Route 54 from Holts Summit to Route HH in Fulton
       * Bridge rehabilitation work on the eastbound Route 54 bridge over Stinson Creek. One eastbound lane of Route 54 will be closed through the work area.
These traffic impacts are scheduled until the end of July.

Route A between Interstate 70 and Route B – Pavement patching will take place Monday, July 30 through Thursday, August 9. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route B between Route 54 and the Montgomery County line – Roadway resurfacing continues.
       * Guardrail installation at the Harrison Branch bridge will take place the week of July 30.
One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in October.

Route E between Route DD and Old Route 54 – Roadway resurfacing and sidewalk upgrades continue.
       * Resurfacing west of Auxvasse continues. In addition, sidewalk work continues in the city of Auxvasse. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in October.

Route K between Route D and Montgomery County line – Pavement patching will take place Monday, July 30 through Thursday, August 2. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Business Route 54 between Route 54 East and Route 54 West – Sidewalk and ADA improvements continue.  One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in December.


Camden County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 5 between Route 7 and Beauty Road
– Roadway resurfacing continues.
       * Striping operations will take place the week of July 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Overnight Hours
Route 5 between Route 7 and Route 64 in Laclede County – Guardrail installation and replacement and pavement repair continues.
       * Paving operations will take place from 7 p.m. until 7 a.m. each weekday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
The entire project is scheduled for completion in November.


Cole County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 54 between Broadway Street and Stadium Boulevard – Roadway resurfacing, pavement repair, guard rail replacement and bridge repair continues.
       * The project is in its third stage, which includes rehabilitation of the westbound Route 54 bridges over Stadium Boulevard and Broadway Street and work on the Route 54 on-ramp from the Madison Street bridge.
       *During the work, westbound Route 54 is reduced to one lane 24 hours a day from north of Broadway to south of Stadium.
       * The Route 54 on-ramp from Madison Street is closed during the work.
The work on Westbound Route 54 and Madison Street exit is scheduled for completion in early August.
The entire project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route 17 between Route 54 and Route 52 Miller County – Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening continues.
       * Concrete replacement will take place just north of the Saline Creek bridge the week of July 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route B between Route M and the Miller County line – Roadside work will take place Monday, July 30 through Thursday, August 9. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route U between Route C and Route NN – Brush cutting will take place Monday, July 30 through Thursday, August 9. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route Y between Route J and Route M – Brush cutting will take place Monday, July 30 through Thursday, August 9. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Cooper County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 87 over Interstate 70 – Bridge replacement is continues.  
       * Grading operations will take place the week of July 30. Minimal traffic interruptions are expected.
       * The removal of the Route 87 overpass bridge over I-70 will begin on July 27. I-70 will be closed in both directions at 10 p.m. that night and re-opened by 5 a.m. on Monday, July 30. During the closure, I-70 traffic will be detoured onto the exit and entrance ramps at the interchange, while there will be no access to Interstate 70 from Route 87.
       * Route 87 South: Detour to Debo Road to Route U to Route B to I-70.
       * Route 87 North: Detour to Route B to I-70.
The Route 87 bridge will remain closed for replacement until November. The entire project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route BB between Route A and Morgan Street – Sidewalk improvements continue. Much of the work will take place off the roadway. Minimal traffic interruptions are expected.


Crawford County

Route 19 between Route 8 and Route 49 – Drainage repair will take place Monday, July 30 through Thursday, August 9. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 19 between Route O and Route P – Pavement marking will take place Monday, July 30 through Thursday, August 2. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 19 between Route P and Route CC – Pavement patching will take place Tuesday, July 31 through Thursday, August 2. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 49 between Route V and Route Y in Iron County – Drainage repair will take place Monday, July 30 through Thursday, August 9. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route E between Route 8 and Cave Road – Drainage repair will take place Monday, July 30 through Thursday, August 9. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route M between Route 8 and Route VV – Culvert pipe replacement in various locations will take place Monday, July 30 through Thursday, August 9. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Interstate 44 North Outer Road between Route F and the Phelps County line – Paving will take place Wednesday, July 30 through Thursday, August 2. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Dent County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route F over Dry Fork Creek, south of Route NN – Bridge replacement continues. The road is closed. Motorists should use the signed detour around the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in August.

Route 32 between Route 72 and Route 63 in Texas County – Roadway microsurfacing continues. 
       * Striping and surface repair operations are scheduled for the week of July 30. One lane will be open and crews will guide traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Route 68 between Route 32 and Phelps County line – Roadside work will take place Monday, July 30 through Thursday, August 2. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 119 between Route 32 and County Road 6670 – Roadway microsurfacing continues. 
       * Striping and surface repair operations are scheduled for the week of July 30. One lane will be open and crews will guide traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Route B between Route 19 and Route 72 – Roadside work will take place Monday, July 30 through Thursday, August 2. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route E between Route 119 and Route K – Roadside work will take place Monday, July 30 through Thursday, August 2. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route H between Route 72 and Phelps County line – Roadside work will take place Monday, July 30 through Thursday, August 2. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route K between Route 19 and the Shannon County line – Roadside work will take place Monday, July 30 through Thursday, August 2. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route OO between Route O and County Road 2010 – Pavement patching will take place Monday, August 6 through Thursday, August 9. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Gasconade County
Daylight Hours
Route 19 between Route 28 and Route 50 – Shoulder addition and asphalt paving continues. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 100 between Route 19 and Route N – Chip sealing the roadway surface to extend pavement life continues. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.  One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route C between Route B and Route 28 in Maries County - Pavement patching will take place Wednesday, August 1 and Thursday, August 2. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Howard County
Overnight Hours
Route 40 between Route 5 and Route UU in Boone County – Resurfacing and shoulder improvements continue.
       * Resurfacing operations on the west end of the project continues. Concrete work is also planned at Booth Lane and Trails West. One lane will be open, and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled to be completed in October.

Route H over Salt Fork Creek, south of County Road 204 – Bridge maintenance will take place Monday, July 30 through Thursday, August 9. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route H between Route 124 and Route B in Randolph County – Roadway paving will take place Monday, July 30 through Thursday, August 2.  One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route U between Route 3 and Route H – Roadway paving will take place Monday, July 30 through Thursday, August 2. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Laclede County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 5 between Route 64 and Route 7 Camden County – Guardrail installation and replacement and pavement repair continues.
       * Paving operations will take place from 7 p.m. until 7 a.m. each weekday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
The entire project is scheduled for completion in November.

Overnight Hours
Interstate 44 between Route 133 and Route D in Phelps County – Roadway resurfacing continues.
       *One eastbound lane of I-44 between mile markers 171 and 173 is closed. The eastbound I-44 on-ramp from Route D (Jerome) is closed during the work. One lane of I-44 and the eastbound on-ramp from Route D will remain closed until repairs are scheduled to be completed in September.
       * One lane of the eastbound bridge over Smith and Tater Hollow near mile marker 172.8 is closed. The lane will remain closed until September.
       * Paving operations in the eastbound and westbound lanes will continue the week of July 30. One eastbound lane and one westbound lane will be open through the work area.
The entire project is scheduled for completion in August, 2019.

Interstate 44 between Elm Street and Route 133 – Pavement repair in the eastbound lanes continues. One eastbound lane will be open through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route 5 between Route C and Farmer’s Lane – Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening continues. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in August.

Route 32 between Route 5 and Route 17 in Texas County – Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening continues. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route T between Interstate 44 and Route JJ – Pavement patching will take place Monday, July 30 through Thursday, August 2. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route JJ between Route F and Route T – Pavement patching will take place Monday, August 6 through Thursday, August 9. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route PP between Route C and Route J – Culvert pipe replacement in various locations will take place Monday, July 30 and Tuesday, July 31. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Maries County
Daylight Hours
Route 63 between Route 28 and Route A – Concrete repair will take place on Tuesday, July 31. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 42 between Route 63 and Route 17 in Miller County – Roadway resurfacing, shoulder addition, and guardrail installation continue.
       * One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route 42 over the Gasconade River, east of County Road 335 – Bridge scour repair continues. Minimal traffic interruptions are expected. The project is scheduled for completion in August.

Route C between Route 28 and Route B in Gasconade County - Pavement patching will take place Wednesday, August 1 and Thursday, August 2. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route E between the end of state maintenance and Interstate 44 in Phelps County - Pavement patching will take place Monday, July 30 through Thursday, August 9. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route EE between Route 28 and County Road 407 - Pavement patching will take place Monday, July 30 through Wednesday, August 1. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Miller County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route A over Tavern Creek, east of Route PP – Bridge replacement continues. The road is closed. Motorists are advised to seek alternate route. The project is scheduled for completion in mid-August.

Route CC between Route Eldon Road and Northridge Drive – Culvert replacement will take place Monday, August 6 through Wednesday, August 8. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 17 between Route 52 and Route 54 in Cole County – Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening continues.

Morgan County

Route J between Route 5 and Route 135 – Pavement patching will take place Monday, July 30 through Thursday, August 9. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route BB over Middle Richland Creek, south of Self Chapel Road – Bridge replacement continues. The road is closed. Motorists are advised to seek alternate route. The project is scheduled for completion in August.

Route PP over Messer Creek, east of Route D – Bridge replacement continues. The road is closed. Motorists are advised to seek alternate route. The project is scheduled for completion in August.


Phelps County

Interstate 44 between Route D and Route 133 in Laclede County – Roadway resurfacing continues.

Route D over the Burlington Northern/Sante Fe Railroad, east of Interstate 44 – Bridge replacement continues.  Much of the work will take place off the roadway. Minimal traffic interruptions are expected. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Route E between Interstate 44 and the end of state maintenance in maries County – Pavement patching will take place Monday, July 30 through Thursday, August 9. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route F between Route 68 and Route 72 – Pavement patching will take place Monday, July 30 through Thursday, August 9. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Pulaski County
