CALLAWAY COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation is holding an online public meeting to share information about an upcoming project that will include replacing the deck on the Route M bridge over Auxvasse Creek in Callaway County. The bridge is located between Hatton and Interstate 70.
MoDOT is seeking input from the public about this project online at http://www.modot.org/central/CallawayRouteMBridge.htm. The online public meeting will run from August 3-16.
The project is scheduled to be awarded in the fall of 2018 and is planned for construction in 2019. During deck replacement work, Route M will be completely closed for approximately three months.
The condition of the bridge deck has reached a point where deck replacement is necessary. The existing bridge was built in 1966 and has weight restrictions. After construction, the weight restriction will be removed.
The total project cost is estimated to be $510,000.
If you would like to have more information about the project, please contact Transportation Project Manager Mia Peters at (573) 751-7690 or at Maria.Peters@modot.mo.gov.
