CLAY COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will be conducting daytime and nighttime paving operations beginning Friday, August 17 and continuing through Friday, September 28. Crews will close the following lanes and will perform the work listed below.
All work is weather dependent.
Crews will close various southbound lanes of 69 Highway between S. McCleary Rd. and N. Lightburne St. beginning at 5 p.m. Aug. 17. This will be 24/7 closures with crews working in three separate segments. Only one segment will be closed at a time. Crews will begin with S. McCleary to the Fishing River Bridge, then the Fishing River Bridge to Route 33 and finally Route 33 to N. Lightburne St. Once the mainline road work is completed, crews will then complete shoulders, entrances and crossovers as well.
In addition, crews will close various northbound lanes of 69 Highway between the Fishing River Bridge and S. McCleary Rd. This will be a 24/7 closure beginning at 5 p.m. Friday, August 17 and will continue through 6 a.m. Monday, August 20.
Motorists should pay close attention to crews throughout this operation and expect uneven pavement throughout the duration of the project.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
