Crews will CLOSE One Lane of Westbound I-435 Next Week for Paving Operations

KANSAS CITY – Beginning Tuesday Aug. 14, crews will be closing the outside lane on westbound I-435 from Grandview Road to Holmes Road at various times. Closures will include:

  • The outside lane of westbound I-435 will be CLOSED from Grandview Road to Holmes Road from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 14. Crews will be pouring concrete pavement behind the barrier wall. 
  • The outside lane of westbound I-435 will be CLOSED from Grandview Road to Holmes Road nightly from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., Aug. 14 through Aug. 17.  Crews will be working on the pavement behind the barrier wall. 

Also as a reminder: Two lanes of eastbound I-435 will CLOSE from State Line Road to Grandview Road from 8 p.m. TONIGHT Aug. 10 until 5 p.m. Saturday Aug. 11.  The contractor will be placing new pavement markings and shifting traffic. Details included here: http://bit.ly/2vWesPt

This work is part of the I-435 South Loop Link project that will replaces the bridges at Wornall and Holmes, rehabilitates the bridges at 104th Street and the Blue River, and upgrades the pavement on I-435 which includes adding another lane. The Missouri Department of Transportation urges all motorists to always wear safety belts, follow posted speed limits and be alert for slowed traffic, narrowed lanes or a reduced number of lanes during construction and maintenance work. And remember, every work zone is a NO PHONE ZONE.
