JACKSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will have various lane closures along Interstate 70 in Independence, MO between Pittman Road and Phelps Road. These lane closures are fore barrier and striping work and is part of the a bridge rehabilitation project along I-70. All work is weather permitting.
- Tuesday, Aug. 14
- Beginning at 8 a.m., there will be a left lane closure along eastbound I-70 at Pittman Road, until 3 p.m.
- Beginning at 9 a.m., there will be a left lane closure along westbound I-70 at Pittman Road, until 3 p.m.
- Beginning at 7 p.m., crews will have a single lane closure along east and westbound I-70 at Phelps Road. This will be followed by a double lane closure at 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning.
- Wednesday, Aug. 15
- Beginning at 8 a.m., there will be a left lane closure along eastbound I-70 at Pittman Road, until 3 p.m.
- Beginning at 9 a.m., there will be a left lane closure along westbound I-70 at Pittman Road, until 3 p.m.
- Friday, Aug. 17
- Beginning at 7 p.m., crews will have a single lane closure along east and westbound I-70 at Crysler Ave. This will be followed by a double lane closure beginning at 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning.
- Monday, Aug. 20
- Beginning at 8 a.m., there will be a left lane closure along eastbound I-70 at Crysler Ave. until 3 p.m.
- Beginning at 9 a.m., there will be a left lane closure along westbound I-70 at Crysler Ave. until 3 p.m.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
