BOONE COUNTY – As part of the Boone County Route BB bridge over I-70 rehabilitation project, pavement repair work will close both westbound I-70 ramps at the Boone County Route BB interchange near Rocheport beginning Thursday, August 16.
Both westbound I-70 ramps will be closed from 10 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 16 until 5 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 17. At this time, work will be suspended, and both ramps will be reopened. The westbound ramps will close again at 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 17 and pavement repair will resume. Both ramps will remain closed until 5 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 20.
Motorists should use the following detours during this phase of the project:
- Motorists traveling west on I-70 who want to access Route BB should use the Route O/J interchange (approximately two miles east of the Route BB interchange) and exit onto the westbound I-70 off-ramp to Boone County Route J then proceed north to Route 40 to Missouri 240 to Rocheport to Route BB.
- Drivers who want to access I-70 westbound from Route BB north of the bridge should use Route BB to Rocheport to Missouri Route 240 to U.S. Route 40 to Boone County Route J to I-70 West.
The Route BB bridge will close on Monday, Aug. 20 for bridge rehabilitation and will be closed until work is completed October.
The I-70 on- and off-ramps in both directions will be open for most of the bridge rehabilitation work but will close near the end of the project so contractors can tie the roadway into the rehabilitated bridge. Ramp closure dates are to be determined later in the project schedule.
Motorists can also expect nightly one-lane closures in both directions of I-70 during the bridge rehabilitation. Lane closures will be in place between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. each night. MoDOT will notify motorists in advance of future closures through electronic message boards, press releases, and social media.
All work schedules are subject to change due to weather conditions.
