JACKSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will have a double left lane closure along north and southbound Interstate 49 between Blue Ridge Blvd. and 163rd Street beginning on Wednesday, Aug. 22. The work will take place on Wednesday evening, Aug. 22, from 6:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, as well as, Thursday evening, Aug. 23, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning. This double lane closure will reduce this portion of I-49 to one lane and is for paving operations. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and find an alternate route if necessary. All work is weather permitting.
Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE zones. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive Alive.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
