- New southbound Route 65 bridge over I-44 scheduled to OPEN on Saturday evening, August 25
- Nighttime lane closings possible at times on Route 65 at I-44 and on I-44 at Route for cleanup work
Work Scheduled:
- Grading work along shoulders in various locations
- Applying grass seed and mulch in areas
- Paving shoulders along southbound Route 65 ramps between I-44 and Kearney Street in mid-September
Traffic Impacts:
- All southbound lanes of Route 65 at I-44 scheduled to open by Saturday evening, August 25
- Westbound I-44-to-southbound Route 65 ramp open Saturday, August 25
- Southbound Route 65-to-eastbound I-44 ramp to open Saturday, August 25
- Nighttime lane closings on I-44 at times. One lane in each direction remains open. Work hours: 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Nighttime lane closings on Route 65 at I-44 at times. One lane remains open. Work hours: 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
(Weather or construction delays could alter the work schedule.)

- Replace 50-year old, deteriorating southbound Route 65 bridge over I-44
- Rebuild westbound I-44-to-southbound Route 65 ramp
- Rebuild southbound Route 65-to-eastbound I-44 ramp
- August 5-August 12 -- COMPLETED
- Rebuild original 1970s-era southbound Route 65 concrete pavement between I-44 and Kearney Street
- Rebuild southbound Route 65-to-Kearney Street ramp
- Rebuild portion of eastbound I-44-to-southbound Route 65 ramp
- August 12-August 19 -- COMPLETED
- Rebuild original 1970s-era southbound Route 65 concrete pavement between Valley Water Mill Road (FRD 102) and I-44
- Upgrade guardrail
- Rebuild shoulders
- No work planned for northbound Route 65
- Prime Contractor: Millstone Weber, Inc. of St. Charles, Mo.
- Project nearing completion
- Total Project Cost: $4.3 million
