Clinton – MoDOT seeks public comment on impacts to the Katy Trail when a project starts in 2019 to extend Gaines Drive east to Missouri Route 52 in Clinton, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
Due to safety concerns, the Katy Trail will be temporarily detoured between the trail head and DZF Road where the trail parallels Route 52 during construction. The detour will go through the parking lot at the trail-head, north along Missouri Route 52 and back to the railway bed at DZF Road. Signs will be installed to guide trail users over the detour route.
The trail detour could last up to six months between May 2019 and January 2020. More information about the detour timeline will be announced closer to the start date of the road project.
