MACON – Weather permitting, Monday, September 17th, Randolph County Route DD will close at Walnut Creek, located approximately 1.9 miles west of Randolph County Route Z near Cairo, for a bridge rehabilitation project. The project will consist of replacing the bridge deck. The contractor will have 65 days to complete this bridge.
At a later date, Randolph County Route EE will be closed, at Coon Creek, located approximately 2.3 miles east of U.S. Route 63 near Moberly, for similar rehabilitation work. A specific closure date has not been determined at this time. We will share that information once we know more. Once started, this bridge is to be completed in 65 calendar days.
Lehman Construction of California, Missouri, was awarded these projects at a total cost of $548,890. Message boards will be in place to notify motorists of the upcoming work.
“These bridges will be 2 feet wider than the existing bridges once the decks are replaced, and they will have guardrail installed as an increased safety measure,” said MoDOT Area Engineer Brian Haeffner, P.E.
