MACON – Weather permitting, Randolph County Route C will be reduced to one lane on Monday, September 17th, at the bridge over U.S. Route 24 near Huntsville, for a bridge rehabilitation project. The project will consist of replacing the expansion joints on the bridge. The contractor will have 45 calendar days to complete this bridge.
Once this project is complete, the contractor will move to U.S. Route 24, over U.S. Route 36, at Monroe City. This bridge will then be reduced to one lane traffic while similar rehabilitation work is completed. The contractor will have 45 calendar days on this bridge.
“These bridges were beginning to see deterioration, so replacing the expansion joints will extend the life of the bridges,” said MoDOT Area Engineer Brian Haeffner, P.E.
Lehman Construction of California, Missouri, was awarded these projects at a total cost $307,837. Message boards will be in place to notify motorists of the upcoming work.
