Connecticut Avenue/I-44 Bridge in Joplin CLOSED Temporarily to Finish Bridge Construction Project
What: Connecticut Avenue CLOSED temporarily over I-44 in Joplin to allow contractor to complete grading areas and applying grass seed for the recently completed bridge replacement project
When: Beginning 9 a.m., today (Tuesday, Sept. 4) until this evening
Project Details:
- Connecticut Avenue bridge over I-44 closed week of Jan. 22
- Contractor crews replaced bridge with new wider structure with four 12-foot lanes and two 8-foot sidewalks
- Project is a 50-50 cost share with city of Joplin
- Prime contractor: Hartman & Company, Inc., Springfield
- Total estimated cost: $2.5 million
