Lightning Damages Signals

BETHANY, Mo. - The U.S. Route 136 and 39th Street signal in Bethany was damaged during the weekend thunderstorms. A lightning strike took out the detection equipment for the west and north bound directions causing these signals to come up every time, even if no vehicle is waiting there.

MoDOT electricians are actively working to replace the detection equipment, but do not have an exact time frame for when the repairs will be made.
