Multiple Lane Closures Scheduled for I-435 Between State Line and Three Trails Crossing Next Week

KANSAS CITY – Crews have set multiple lane closures next week as part of the I-435 South Loop Link project currently underway between State Line Road and the Three Trails Crossing. Many of the closures will take place either during the day after normal peak hours or during overnight hours. All work is weather dependent.

The full listing of closures follows:

  • Monday, Sept. 17: Crews will CLOSE the outside lane and auxiliary lane from State Line Road to Wornall Road from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. to pour concrete for the eastbound Wornall Road off-ramp.
  • Wednesday, Sep. 19: Crews will CLOSE the outside through lane and auxiliary lane from Wornall Road to Holmes Road from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. to pour concrete for the eastbound Holmes Road off-ramp
  • Thursday, Sept. 20:  Crews will CLOSE the right lane of westbound I-435from Blue River to west of the 104th St bridge from 6:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. to pour concrete along the westbound outside shoulder near the 104th St bridge.
  • Friday, Sept. 21: Crews will CLOSE the right two lanes from HolmesRoadto 104th St from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. to pour concrete on eastbound I-435 east of the Holmes Road on-ramp.

This work is part of the I-435 South Loop Link project that will replaces the bridges at Wornall and Holmes, rehabilitates the bridges at 104th Street and the Blue River, and upgrades the pavement on I-435 which includes adding another lane. The Missouri Department of Transportation urges all motorists to always wear safety belts, follow posted speed limits and be alert for slowed traffic, narrowed lanes or a reduced number of lanes during construction and maintenance work. And remember, every work zone is a NO PHONE ZONE.
