SCHEDULE CHANGE: Interstate ramp resurfacing planned

Work now to be done at night

ROCK PORT, Mo. – Resurfacing planned for the interchange ramps at Interstate 29 and U.S. Route 136 at Rock Port has been rescheduled. Crews now plan to resurface the ramps at the I-29/U.S. Route 136 interchange (Exit 110) at night on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 17 and 18. The Missouri Department of Transportation contracted with Chester Bross Construction Company to resurface I-29 from the Iowa state line to Route 11, including ramps within that area.

Crews plan to narrow the ramps beginning early in the evening Monday, working through the night. There will be no daytime work on Monday, but crews will return to the ramps on Tuesday evening and work overnight. They hope to have all resurfacing work on the ramps complete by Wednesday morning. The ramps will remain open during the work, but motorists will experience delays. All work is weather permitting and subject to change.

Crews are working at night to minimize the impact to motorists, especially larger commercial vehicles that utilize the interchange. As visibility is lower at night, motorists are urged to use extreme caution, slow down, buckle up, and eliminate distractions.
