Work Resumes on McMasters Avenue in Hannibal

HANNIBAL – Multiple subcontractors will be resuming work on McMasters Avenue this week. Crews will continue to work on the sidewalks, approaches and do cleanup work, along with other off-road details.  Additionally, installation of the sign bases will occur along with some guardrail work.

Preparations are in place to start hauling material to the asphalt plant site next week in order to begin resurfacing operations the beginning of October. Lane closures are not expected until the resurfacing begins on the entire 4 mile stretch of road, which is expected the first part of October along with the installation of the permanent signal poles at Stardust Drive.

“All resurfacing work will be completed between 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. with a lane closure during nighttime working hours,” stated Missouri Department of Transportation Area Engineer Brian Haeffner, P.E. “This will decrease the inconvenience to the traveling public due to lower volume traffic during that time,” he added.
