Rescheduled: Lane and Ramp Closures Scheduled for Eastbound I-70 at Pittman Rd Sept. 18 at 9 p.m.

JACKSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation has rescheduled its plans to conduct bridge work along eastbound Interstate 70 at Pittman Road on Tuesday, Sept. 18. Work will now begin at 9 p.m. on Tuesday evening until 5 a.m. the following morning. This was previously scheduled to be from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. but has been rescheduled.
There will be various lane closures and ramp closures that are noted below including times where eastbound I-70 will be reduced to ONE LANE. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and find an alternate route if possible. This is all part of the bridge replacement work along I-70 at Crysler, Pittman, and Phelps Roads. All work is weather permitting.

  • Eastbound I-70 will have a double right lane closure in the vicinity of Pittman Road beginning on Tuesday evening, Sept. 18, at 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 19. This will reduce this portion of I-70 to one lane.
  • Eastbound I-70 will have a double lane closure (the inside lane, and middle lane) in the vicinity of Pittman Road beginning on Tuesday evening, Sept. 18, at 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 19. This will reduce this portion of I-70 to one lane.
  • The ramp from Blue Ridge Cutoff onto eastbound I-70 will be on Tuesday evening, Sept. 18, at 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 19.
  • Work that was originally scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 19, from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. has also been rescheduled. More details to follow when they are available.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
