2018 Broadway (Buck O’Neil) Bridge Run
KCPD to Participate in 2018 Broadway Bridge Run - Benefiting Special Olympics Missouri
On September 23rd, 2018, the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department will again sponsor the Broadway Bridge Run benefiting Special Olympics Missouri. The race will start at 7:00 a.m. and will consist of a 10K and a half marathon. Starting at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts at 16th and Broadway, the route encompasses the Charles B. Wheeler Downtown Airport as well as much of the mid-town area.
The current construction closures on 169 Highway southbound will remain in place as they are however, 169 northbound will be closed as well at 6:30 a.m. It is anticipated to be re-opened by 11:00 a.m. For those attempting to access the Charles B. Wheeler Downtown Airport, officers will be made available for assistance at, 5th & 7th Streets at Broadway Boulevard on the south and at the Richards Road exit to the airport from 169 Highway southbound for those coming from the northland.
Other closures affecting traffic are:
- Northbound I-35 exit ramp to Broadway Boulevard on the northwest corner of downtown loop. (Ramp to I-70 EB from I-35 north will remain open)
- Southbound I-35 exit ramp to 27th Street/Broadway Boulevard
- Westbound I-70 exit ramp to Main/Delaware/Wyandotte (north side of downtown loop)
- Westbound I-70 exit ramp to Broadway (north side of downtown loop)
- Eastbound I-70 exit ramp 2C to Broadway/Downtown (coming from Kansas)
Access to the City Market will remain open from Grand Boulevard and River Front Road.
