JACKSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will close the left two lanes along westbound Interstate 70 at Pittman Road beginning at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 19, until 6 a.m. the following morning. This double lane closure is for bridge work along westbound I-70 at the Pittman Road bridge and will reduce westbound I-70 ONE LANE. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and find an alternate route if necessary. This is all part of the bridge replacement work along I-70 at Crysler, Pittman, and Phelps Roads. All work is weather permitting.
Use the zipper merge method at the merge points. Take turns. Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE zones. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive Alive.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
