JACKSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will be conducting bridge work along east and westbound Interstate 70 in the vicinity of Crysler Avenue and Phelps Road this week beginning at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 26. This is all part of the bridge project along I-70 at the Crysler, Pittman, and Phelps bridges. All work is weather permitting.
- East and westbound I-70 in the vicinity of Phelps Road will have the left lanes closed beginning at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 26, until 6 a.m. the following morning. This left lane closure is for the setting of girders. This work was originally scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 25, and has been rescheduled.
- This left lane closure will expand to a double lane closure beginning at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 26, until 6 a.m. the following morning.
- Westbound I-70 will have a double left lane closure in the vicinity of Crysler Avenue beginning at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 26, until 6 a.m. the following morning for overhang installation.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
